The most important part of your customer’s experience happens when your coffee is brewed at home.

Yet, most roasters ignore what happens after checkout.

I’ve ordered from four different roasters online often spending over £80 a kilo on coffee. I gave them a shout to ask for any suggestions for a recipe if not on their website, only one of them replied. I managed to dial each coffee in but I’m always wondering what should I adjust to try get it better.

I feel like every recipe I see for pourover is like “course” or “medium course” or “24 clicks on comandante”. Does everyone have a comandante grinder now?! How would I know what that means?

This is my most expensive coffee I’ve ever bought by far at $80/100g. I’m very excited and a little nervous but would love to hear if anyone’s tried this and if they have any brewing advice?

What our app users say

I find it’s especially good for giving me a starting point when roasters give their recommended grind size for machines like the EK43. Appreciate the work you’ve done

It’s a lot more helpful than some people in the forums who would rather lecture about how even the same branded grinders and beans vary, instead of simply saying what setting they’re using so new users have a reference point to start from.

I converted the grind size from my Varia EVO Hybrid to my new Timemore Sculptor 078S this morning for my V60 recipe, and it was delicious.

I lost count of how many times I’ve looked for grinder conversions, even if approximate and geometry is different, having a ballpark within a few clicks when testing a recipe someone loves is amazing.

I love that I can convert microns into clicks for each grinder! Thank you for what you do.

This is great. Just getting into this coffee grinding thing, and most of the recipes declare the grind size by the hallowed Comandante C40. And you’ve got my 1Zpresso Q there. Sorted.

Seems quite good between my j ultra and df54. I think it will help lots of people with general ballpark calculations.

How do you make your grind setting conversions accurate?

Our conversions are built using real grind samples submitted by users across a wide range of grinders. We regularly analyze and refine this data to improve accuracy and consistency. As we continue to crowdsource more data, some grinders will naturally be more dialed in than others.

However, no conversion can be 100% exact. Small variations in grinder calibration, burr alignment, and usage over time mean that results can differ slightly. Think of our tool as a precise starting point to help you get close, then adjust to taste.
